Apollo 17's commander, Gene Cernan, poses with the last "Old Glory" planted on the moon. So far, Cernan is the last person to walk on another world. An excellent and evocative image by Ron Woods.
Woods was a spacesuit technician responsible for "dressing" an Apollo crewman in his custom suit. He dressed Jim Lovell before the historic Apollo 8 flight. He eventually was responsible for all of the tools, suits, and equipment taken aboard space shuttle flights. A superb watercolorist, he turned his talents to his love of technology.
