NEPTUNE

Painted shortly after the Voyager 2 encounter in 1989, Neptune shows its stripes. The eighth planet has an unusually warm and active atmosphere.

Shown are the Great Dark Spot (which has since disappeared) and the "Wizard's Eye" in the southern hemisphere.
