Daybreak

Painstakingly assembled from satellite photos, this composite shows daybreak rising on the Rockies, while city lights glow from the Great Plains westward. Can you pick out your town? The East is as crisply detailed as we've ever seen, with 1km resolution. This is the kind of view astronauts get, but eludes regular photographs because of the range of brightness.
